pleasantville: a sociological character study!!! 

in the movie bill starts out as just another one of the pleasantville citizens; he conforms to the culture (ex: not knowing what to do when things happen out of routine) but deep down does not really relate to the rest of the town. when bud gets him the art book he discovers something out of what he has been living in his whole life and begins to embrace it fully.
